ABOUT US - CKPES

The Center for Kinesiology Physical Education and Sport (CKPES) is the sport academic unit at the University of Trinidad and  Tobago. It is a premier unit, one of a kind, artistic and scientific, which prides itself in the holistic development of its students and communities at large. The CKPES hosts a wealth of professionals in the Sport and Education field and we the student population take pride in presenting each of them to you our viewing public:



Assistant Professor - Dr. Kerry Dollaway (PhD.)

Dr. Dollaway is the Programme Leader of the CKPES and is a certified Bone and Injuries Specialist. He is a very professional, articulate and exceptional leader and is very down to earth when dealing with the students at the CKPES. Dr. Dollaway is lovingly referred to by his students as the "Biomechanics Man."





Assistant Professor Sport Education - Dr. Karen Lawrence - Ince (PhD.)

Dr. Ince is the Education specialist of the CKPES and is one of the most invaluable professors at the UTT. She is also an exemplary leader in this field, and prides herself in her work and uses this passion for teaching and education to instill life-changing values to all her students.


Assistant Professor - Dr. Marlon Melville (PhD.)

Dr. Melville is a certified Sport Psychologist attached to the CKPES. He is also a research fanatic and is a true leader for his department in this Field. Dr. Melville trains his students to think analytically and independently, always challenging them to see life from a different perspective.





Assistant Professor - Dr. Joel Paul (PhD.)

Dr. Paul is a certified Pediatric Exercise Specialist attached to the CKPES. His background is diverse and his training also expands into the field of Talent Identification (A very unique field in T&T). Dr. Paul is also a fitness enthusiast and leads by example when it comes to physical training and fitness in the department. 





Assistant Professor - Dr. Ashton Rogers (PhD.)

Dr. Rogers is the newest addition to the CKPES having transferred in from the Biomedical Engineering Academy. Dr. Rogers is a Neuroscientist and has an immense background in the field of Sport Science, Neurology and Biomechanics.






Senior Instructor - Mr. Stacey Cateau

Mr. Cateau spearheads the Sport Management department at the CKPES and is the industry innovator specialist. He has a wealth of knowledge and experience when it comes to Sport Organisation Management having worked in the field for over 10 years . He is very approachable, and humble, will sit and work with students and give of his time selflessly. 





Senior Instructor - Mrs. Rhonda Clarke-Goden

Mrs. Goden is a long standing member of the CKPES having been at the UTT for 14 years. She is very dedicated to her work and her credentials and expertise are in the Sport for Development, Special Education and Sport Technology arena. She is also the manager of the Volunteerism department at the CKPES and loves working with and developing youth sport professionals.






Senior Instructor - Mr. Peer Nasseir

A certified Exercise Physiologist, Mr. Nasseir is a long standing member at the CKPES having been at the UTT for 14 years. He is also an Outdoors fanatic and a certified Volleyball professional and Coach. Mr. Nasseir is the "go to" lecturer when it comes to coaching, exercise and physiology strategies and techniques. 






Senior Instructor - Miss Gina Ragbir

Miss Ragbir is a Sports Nutritionist and Educator by trade having been in the field of Education for over 15 years. She is one of the Administrative professionals at the CKPES and is very organized, articulate, goal oriented and apart from being an excellent teacher, is an expert at managing all the departmental projects.





Senior Instructor - Mrs. Jo-Ellen Redhead

Mrs. Redhead is a certified Athletic Trainer and her expertise lies in the field of Sport Science and Injury Care and Prevention. She is also a former gymnast and has played major roles in developing Post Graduate programs at the CKPES. She is one of the departments well composed, knowledgeable teachers and will go the extra mile to assist students in any way she can.





Senior Instructor - Mr. Ato Rockcliffe

Mr. Rockcliffe fondly referred to as "Brother Ato" by all his students, is a Sport for Development Practitioner at the CKPES. He has a wealth of knowledge and experience in this field which has been diversified due to his international travelling experiences. He is passionate about teaching and loves relating to students one-on-one.
